The B vitamins are necessary for healthy nerves,
skin, hair, muscles, organs, eyes, gastrointestinal tract, and brain function.
They are coenzymes involved in energy production, and may be useful in alleviating
anxiety and depression. The need for B vitamins increase with age because of poor
absorption.
They should be taken as a complex, but 2-3 times as much of one or more
of the individual B vitamins can be taken for a particular disorder.
